10 Foreign investment control

Greenland is now introducing rules on the screening of certain foreign investments. A bill was presented to the
Greenlandic Parliament in Autumn 2025 and is set to be debated during the Spring session 2026. The
Government of Greenland wishes to promote investment in Greenland but is also aware that foreign investment
may in certain cases pose a threat to Greenland's security or public order. The proposal is based on a combination
of a sectoral regime applicable to particularly sensitive sectors, where approval for foreign investments is required,
and a voluntary cross-sectoral notification regime for other foreign investments.
